Diagnosed issue

In May 2026, Sonora detected unusual harmonic activity around 290 Hz on one of the motors, indicating possible bearing wear. The system identified a growing trend in harmonics and recommended inspection of the motor bearings.

During follow-up discussions, Atria confirmed that the alerts were taken seriously and preparations for motor replacement had already begun. Additional observations revealed an unexpected increase in motor bearing temperature to approximately 60°C. After extra lubrication was applied, the temperature dropped to around 45°C and vibration parameters decreased slightly, but elevated vibration levels remained.

Viezo continued monitoring the asset and repeatedly recommended bearing replacement. In June, Atria replaced the motor and validated the defect as a true positive, confirming bearing wear as the root cause.

Savings

Continuous monitoring enabled early identification of bearing deterioration before a critical failure occurred. The alert supported maintenance planning, helped correlate vibration trends with increasing bearing temperature, and allowed the motor replacement to be scheduled before unplanned downtime or compressor failure occurred.
