BLUNT SAW BLADE DETECTED
Diagnosed issue
In September 2026, Sonora detected increasing anomalous harmonics around 110 Hz on an Iverpan scoring saw. The harmonics had been developing for approximately one month, indicating potential tool wear. Sonora recommended inspecting the tool and checking whether the bearing had also been affected.
Iverpan replaced the saw blade one day after the notification. Although the anomalous harmonics initially persisted, continued monitoring later confirmed a reduction in harmonic activity.
On October 5, Iverpan confirmed that the removed saw blade had been blunt, validating Sonora’s detection as a true positive.
Results
Sonora detected developing saw blade wear through increasing harmonic activity and directed maintenance toward the affected tool. Continued monitoring after replacement confirmed a reduction in harmonics, while the customer’s findings verified that the removed blade was blunt.
