Diagnosed issue
10 days after installation, a fault in a sluice gear was detected and validated. Mechanics did not notice any abnormal vibrations on the outside of the equipment. The fault was reported with about 2-4 weeks of gear life remaining.
Savings
The repair was completed on Sunday, when factory was closed. Repair duration totalled 4 hours. Had the fault occurred during the work hours, the estimated downtime cost would have totalled to approximately 3,000€.
